This point provides a beautiful panoramic view of the Arabian Sea, Honnavara town and the mountains beyond. A hint of a cloud is enough for the Sun to play hide and seek, unleashing a symphony of colours over the Arabian Sea, as far as your eyes can see. It is a photographer’s haven.
A good place to watch the sunset. This hill is just a kilometer away from Honnavar town, yet there is no direction or identification displayed for this little piece of history. Ask around, look out for a small hill sporting a huge pillar, locate the steep steps hidden from the casual eye, and undertake a short climb. It is a worthy discovery.
This monument is situated close to National Highway 66. As there would be significant collateral damage resulting from the road expansion program, the matter was in court at the time of our visit in 2019.
