Hulikal Ghat is one of the prominent ghat roads of Karnataka, connecting Shivamogga with Kundapura. Whether you approach from Tirthahalli or Nagara, you will first come across Mastikatte. When you travel on the ghat road for about 10 km from here, you will reach Hulikal Falls.

To capture the dynamics of this flow through still photographs is a challenge for beginners and adds special effects of its own.

The might of Nature is at full display as water gushes down from about 100 ft height, fed by incessant rains.

Rain that envelops the higher reaches of Western Ghats in various forms, eventually descends down as myriad streams, forming spectacular cascades. These streams continue their journey downward, feeding one river or another, bolstering its resolve to join the sea. At Hulikal, water is deflected by many craggy rock surfaces during its descent, creating a milky effect.
