The pathway here is not our typical thoroughfare. It is a stone surface over which people can walk and small vehicles can also ride across today; however, the location is in the midst of wilderness so vehicles do not come by.
About 6-7 km from Talguppa towards Jog Falls is a small village called Malavalli to the left. Hidden from the main road is a naturally formed stone bridge nearby. It is difficult to establish whether the stream below connects up with Sharavathi; however, this is one of the naturally formed wonders in the basin.
Called Kallu Sanka locally, the bridge has been formed by the gradual erosion of rock due to incessant pressure & flow of the stream, which must have been quite voluminous to have caused such a wide opening.
As the day progresses, the light & shadow keep playing games with our perceptions. By the way, could you make out the elephant?!
