The Sun decided to surprise us by setting down just across the banks on which we stood. It was simply an awesome treat to watch him morph from a harsh fireball to a mellowed melon.

For the lovers, it is a different story. The boat can take its time, so they can take the next dozen of selfies in a romantic setting!

Did I say people wait for boats? Well, their belongings wait too. Like the motorbike here, its bravado having met a dead end at the riverbank.

World over, transportation has improved leaps & bounds. Out there at the backwaters of Sharavathi, 20 years into the 21st century, man still waits for a boat and sometimes, the boat waits for him!

In my endeavour to capture the beauty along the river Sharavathi, I have come across many places which I hadn’t thought existed all these years. Nothing can beat Nature. Once when I was driving to reach the banks of river Sharavathi somewhere, I came across this landscape, around 25 km from Sagara. There was nothing to differentiate it from an artistic masterpiece, with the hills appearing like waves, and the sunlight that highlighted features at its whim
